What's in your kit:

• Mermaid tail foundation / Unicorn Head foundation

• crystal-growing materials

• measuring container

• dye (3 colors)

• color palette

• finger gloves

• flat brush

• stir stick

Before You Begin

• Set up your work area first. Lay down paper towels to catch drips and spills.
• Lay out everything in the kit so it's all within reach before you begin.
• Have an adult help with the boiling water and crystal powder.
• Wash your hands well after handling the materials.
• Keep the crystal powder away from your eyes and mouth.
• If any powder or solution gets in your eyes, rinse immediately with water and tell an adult. If irritation continues, get medical help.
• Read all instructions carefully before starting.

Step 1: Make Your Magic Crystal Solution

• Ask an adult to carefully pour boiling water into the measuring container until it reaches the 450 ml line.
• Have the adult slowly add the entire packet of crystal powder to the boiling water.
• Carefully stir until the powder is completely dissolved.
• Make sure the water looks clear with no powder remaining at the bottom.
• Let the solution cool for about 15 to 20 minutes before moving to the next step.

Tip: Crystals form best when the solution is still warm, so mix the powder thoroughly before the water cools.

Step 2: Grow Your Crystal Mermaid/Unicorn

• Once the solution has cooled, gently place the mermaid tail/unicorn base in the center of the container.
• Make sure the mermaid tail/unicorn is fully covered by the liquid.
• Be careful when adding the mermaid tail/unicornbecause the water level will rise.
• Place the container somewhere stable and quiet where it will not be disturbed.
• Leave it undisturbed for 24 hours while the crystals grow.
• After 24 hours, carefully lift out the crystal mermaid tail/unicorn.
• Place it on a protected surface.
• Let it dry completely before decorating.

Step 3: Paint Your Crystal Mermaid/Unicorn

• Make sure the crystal mermaid tail/unicorn is completely dry before decorating.
• Add a few drops of pink, yellow, and blue dye into separate wells of the palette.
• Mix the dyes together to create additional colors if desired.
• Use the flat brush to gently apply color to the dry crystal mermaid tail/unicorn.
• Continue adding colors and details until you are happy with your design.

Color Mixing Ideas

• Yellow + Pink = Orange
• Yellow + Blue = Green
• Pink + Blue = Purple
• Experiment with different amounts of each dye to create more shades.

Tip: Make sure the mermaid is completely dry before adding the dyes for the brightest, most vibrant colors.
