What's in your kit:
- 12 Hair Chalk Pens
- 2 Biodegradable Glitters
- 1 Glitter Applicator Brush
- 1 Mini Comb
- 1 Applicator Wand
- 1 Sheet of Temporary Tattoos
Before You Begin
- Set up your work area first. Lay down paper towels to catch drips and spills.
- Lay out everything in the kit so it's all within reach before you begin.
- Use the kit with adult supervision.
- Read all warning labels and instructions before starting.
- Do not ingest any of the products.
- Stop using the products immediately if you notice skin irritation or redness.
- Wear clothing that can get stained, since hair chalk may transfer onto clothing or pillows.
Step 1: Test the Hair Chalk
- Choose a small section of hair.
- Apply chalk to the last 2 to 4 inches of the section as a test.
- Check how the color looks on your hair before applying more.
- Keep in mind that lighter hair usually shows the colors more brightly than darker hair.
- Hair chalk may also apply more easily to recently washed hair.
Step 2: Choose Your Color
- Select the hair chalk pen color you want to use.
- Remove the cap.
- If you are blending several colors, begin with the lightest shade.
- Add darker colors afterward to help keep the colors clear instead of muddy.
Step 3: Place the Hair on the Applicator Wand
- Hold the flat applicator wand.
- Place a section of hair on top of the wand.
- Use the wand as a backing surface while applying the hair chalk.
- If you are switching between colors and want them to stay separate, rinse the wand between colors.
- Dry the wand with a paper towel before using the next color.
Step 4: Apply the Hair Chalk
- Hold the hair against the applicator wand.
- Rub the chalk pen over the hair in a downward motion, following the direction you would normally brush or comb it.
- Do not rub the chalk upward.
- Continue applying the chalk until you have the amount of color you want.
Step 5: Comb Out the Excess
- Use the small comb to gently comb through the colored section.
- Remove any excess chalk buildup.
- This helps reduce the amount of chalk that may transfer onto your clothing.
Step 6: Add More Color
- Move another section of hair onto the applicator wand if you want to color a larger area.
- Repeat the same application steps.
- To switch colors, clean the applicator wand first.
- Repeat the process with your new color.
Step 7: Create Your Style
Try different looks, such as:
- Coloring only the bottom 2 to 4 inches of your hair.
- Adding a few colorful highlight sections.
- Creating an ombre effect with 3 or 4 colors.
- Coloring different strands before making a braid.
- Putting your hair in a ponytail and coloring the end.
Removing Hair Chalk
- Hair chalk color should last about one day.
- Rinse your hair with water to remove the chalk.
- Use a little shampoo if needed.
- Comb out excess chalk and wash it from your hair before bedtime to help prevent staining pillows and bedding.
Glitter Tattoos
Step 1: Prepare the Skin
- Choose where you want to place the tattoo.
- Wash the area with soap and water.
- Make sure the skin is clean and dry.
- Remove any moisture, sweat, lotion, dirt, or other residue that could affect how well the tattoo sticks.
Step 2: Prepare the Tattoo
- Choose your tattoo design.
- Use scissors to carefully cut the design from the tattoo sheet.
- Peel away the white backing layer.
- Leave the tattoo sticker attached to the clear backing.
Step 3: Apply the Tattoo
- Flip the tattoo over and place it onto your skin.
- Press and rub over the clear layer so the tattoo sticker sticks to the skin.
- Gently peel away the clear top layer.
- Avoid touching or rubbing the exposed sticky tattoo.
Step 4: Add Glitter
- Choose your glitter color.
- Open the glitter pot carefully and keep it upright.
- On first use, remove the small plastic protective layer inside the pot.
- Use the small applicator brush to scoop glitter onto the sticky tattoo.
- Gently dab or spread the glitter across the design.
- Add more than one glitter color if desired.
- Do not brush the sticky tattoo without glitter on the brush because this may reduce its stickiness.
Step 5: Remove Extra Glitter
- Gently blow away loose glitter.
- You can also carefully sweep away extra glitter with a tissue.
- Be gentle so you do not disturb the finished tattoo.
Body Glitter
Step 1: Apply the Body Glitter
- Find the container with the larger glitter flakes. This is the gel-based body glitter.
- Gently dip your fingertip into the glitter.
- Spread a small amount onto your skin.
- Add more as desired.
Clean Up
- Wash body glitter from the skin with soap and water.
- Rinse hair chalk from your hair with water and shampoo or soap if needed.
- Clean the applicator wand between colors
