- 10 x 0.15 oz lip balm tubes, in 5 colors
- 12 stick-on labels
- 3 flavors, 5 ml or 0.17 fl. oz each, mint, watermelon, and strawberry

Before You Start
- Remove all ingredients, tools, lip balm tubes, and labels from the packaging.
- Check that all kit components are included before beginning.
- Read the detailed step-by-step instructions from start to finish.
- Set up a clean, dry, and clutter-free work surface.
- Keep the lip balm tubes upright and ready for filling.
- Have adult supervision available for any heating or melting steps required by the instructions.
Steps:
Step 1: Mix Your Ingredients
- Gather the four ingredients: beeswax chips, olive oil, shea butter, and flavoring.
- Add 1 scoop of olive oil to the mixing cup.
- Add 1 scoop of shea butter. Pack the shea butter into the scoop so it is completely filled.
- Add 1 scoop of beeswax chips.
- Do not add the flavoring yet.
Tip: You do not need to rinse the scoop between the olive oil and shea butter. The olive oil helps the shea butter slide out more easily.
Optional Texture Adjustments
For a regular lip balm:
- 1 scoop olive oil
- 1 scoop beeswax
- 1 scoop shea butter
For a softer lip balm:
- 1 scoop olive oil
- 2/3 scoop beeswax
- 1 1/3 scoop shea butter
For a harder lip balm:
- 1 scoop olive oil
- 1 1/3 scoop beeswax
- 2/3 scoop shea butter
- More beeswax creates a firmer balm.
- Less beeswax creates a softer, smoother balm.
Step 2: Melt and Mix
A. Melt the Ingredients
- Place the mixing cup in the microwave.
- Heat on high for 15 seconds at a time.
- Stir between each round of heating.
- Continue heating and stirring until everything is completely melted.
- This usually takes about 3 to 5 rounds, depending on your microwave.
No Microwave?
- With an adult's help, place the mixing cup in a shallow bowl of hot water.
- Allow the ingredients to melt.
- Be careful because the cup may become hot.
- Stir with the stir stick until the mixture is smooth and fully blended.
B. Add the Flavor
- Add up to 7 to 8 drops of flavoring per batch.
- Stir well so the flavor is evenly mixed.
- You can mix and match flavors to create your own combination.
Important: Do not add too much flavoring. Too much can prevent the balm from setting properly or cause it to separate.
Step 3: Pour It In
- Make sure the lip balm container is open and fully retracted.
- Check that the lip balm can be twisted all the way down before filling.
- Use the pipette to transfer the melted mixture into the lip balm container, or pour it directly from the mixing cup.
- Fill each tube carefully.
- If the mixture starts to thicken before you finish, microwave it for 10 seconds to melt it again.
- Repeat the process for additional batches.
Note: Each batch usually fills about 3 to 5 lip balm tubes. The kit includes enough ingredients to make all 10.
Step 4: Let It Cool
- Leave the filled lip balms at room temperature.
- Allow them to cool for 30 to 60 minutes.
- Wait until the lip balm is completely solid before using it.
- Do not refrigerate the lip balms.
Step 5: Label and Enjoy
- Use the included stickers to decorate the lip balm tubes.
- Give each lip balm its own creative name.
- Keep your finished lip balms for yourself or share them with friends and family.
